Terry Grosklaus Durrant Brown

Dear fellow classmates: 30 years is a long time to think back on! A lot has happened to me.  After high school I went to Clark College for 2 years. I married Rick in 1972.  Our first son Mark was born in 78 and our second son Richard was born in 79. In 83 our first daughter Lena was born and our second daughter was born in 85. Louise is my special child, she was born with downs syndrome. We left Vancouver and moved to Phoenix in 84. I was a stay at home Mom till Louise started school. I worked as a duty aide for a school for 5 years.   Then I became an aide on the special needs school buses, wheel chairs, emotionally handicapped kids, juvenile kids – all of them that ride the special needs buses. This is my 3rd year doing it and I love it. Children like Louise are such a joy and delight to have. She sure teaches me a lot and other people she meets. Louise is so sociable and not shy.  In 81 we joined the LDS Mormon Church. In fact, Dan Jensen's brother Tom baptized us. I have learned since joining that all the special needs children are very special spirits and there are reasons why they came to earth the way they are. I know Louise has taught a lot of people about being friends, helpful and this helps others to understand her also. They are here to teach us compassion, kindness and helping others as they will already have their rewards in Heaven. I feel privileged to be chosen to be her Mother.  In 95 I divorced.  I was a single Mom for 2 years raising 4 kids.  In 96 I met my future husband, Clark Brown at a singles dance.  We were married in April 97. He is a wonderful man and is also LDS. He works in a factory that makes night vision goggles for government agencies, police, fire etc. Finally our lives are settling down.  I'm looking forward to seeing all of you once again.  It will be interesting to see how we have all changed

See you soon
