Sue TaylorWow! It’s been thirty years (hard to believe!) and my life has come full circle. After graduation, I worked for Fred Meyer’s while attending Clark College part-time, met a man from Seattle and got married in 1973. We had our first son, Gene, in 1976 and our second son, Andy, was born in 1979. I was a stay-at-home mom and did the usual suburban housewife things – HOST program volunteer, Little League, Scouting and did some Hospice volunteering for a year. In 1994, after 21 years together, my husband and I divorced. I now found myself traveling a road I never envisioned. I was suddenly a single Mom with two teenage boys and no job skills. My kids and I became partners in survival as we all struggled to come to terms with our new lives. It’s been a tough transition, but I wouldn’t change a minute of the past 6 years. (Well, maybe a couple of minutes…) Gene went to college at MSU-Billings for 4-years and came home in August of last year. Andy went to WSU for two years and then decided not to return last year. They both are back in Vancouver, living on their own, and doing the stuff that 20-somethings do. I worked for 5 years for a Commercial Construction firm and then was given a wonderful opportunity by my brother, Steve, last year. He started a software development company, TNT Software, in 1996, working out of his home. In February 1999, he opened an office in Salmon Creek. I do all the “non-tech” stuff as his office manager. We now have six employees, customers from all over the world, and we’re having a blast. TNT is an internet company, (www.tntsoftware.com), and we sell our products over the web. Fascinating stuff! So, thirty years later, here I am in much the same position I was at graduation (although a lot older, not quite as shy & a little wiser), Sue Taylor again (took my maiden name back), single again, and poised for a new life adventure - again. The more things change, the more they stay the same…
