Shirley Morris (Jorgensen)Wow, how to sum up the past 30 yrs. That is a tough assignment. Just after graduation I did the usual, work, play, work, get your own place, move back home. Then in l977 I got married to a great guy. In 1980 we moved to our little town of Dallas and bought our first home. I was working in banking and he works for the State of Oregon. In l985 we learned about a set of twin girls in Bangalore, India that were ready to be adopted. Since this was the way we were going to get our kids we jumped at the chance. One year later they finally came home and our family started. We have been blessed with watching them grow. In l992 we moved (still in Dallas) and started having foreign students in our home. Through a program in a nearby town we had 24 ladies stay with us during the next 4 yrs. Many were only for 1-3 weeks but a few were for 3 months at a time. Mostly one at a time though. Most of that experience was wonderful. We have friends in Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Taiwan. A few of them I get to write to via e-mail now. In l995 we decided to start looking for a little boy to join our family. We finally learned about a little guy that was only 1 lb. 13 oz. at birth that was free for adoption. Thankfull he has had no problems with being born that small and 10 weeks early. We snatched him up (actually God put him into our home) and he has been a joy. We told our girls that our parenting experience was so great with them, that we wanted to do it again. Our little guy thinks his sisters are great and they in turn are learning so much about being big sisters. They are bonding better than I expected. At each point I have been able to stay home with the kids when they were small. I am enjoying that right now. When our little guy goes to school I am hoping to go back to work with the local school dist. as I was doing before he came. We are very involved in our local Assembly of God church. I am in the chior there (which should not surprise many of you) We will be married 23 yrs. now. Our girls are 15 yrs. old, and our son is 4 yrs. old. I enjoy all kinds of crafts and decorating our home. Trying to stretch my interests to doing the outside of our home (gardening) Well, that about sums it up. I am still doing what I feel I was meant to do in my life. I always wanted to be a Wife and Mom and that is totally fullfilled. Hope to see you all at the reunion. Shirley A.
