Richard BaileyIn 1973, Brenda and I were married and then later divorced. We have a beautiful daughter, Angie, who is now 21. I spent 6 years in the army as a tank driver and a weapons specialist with a top secret security clearance. I attended Clark & Bellvue Community Colleges and finally UCLA, but no degrees. I played a little semi-pro football for about 1 ½ years for several teams. I had to decide whether I wanted to be able to walk when I was forty or to keep playing football - I chose walking. I worked as a real estate appraiser/analyst in Washington before moving to Southern California in 1983. I then worked for major financial institutions in Los Angeles for approximately 10 years, and traveled all over the U.S. approving major loans, classifying real estate assets and setting reserve requirements for federal review. I met and fell in love with my own "California girl" and we were married in 1987. We met playing volleyball and still love to play. Sharon and I have a beautiful little 4 year old daughter named Rachel Nicole and are awaiting the birth of our second daughter, Megan Rose at the end of September 2000. In 1993, I started my own real estate consulting business, Sunwest Investments. I still travel around the country, but not as much and I try to take Sharon and Rachel with me most of the time. Besides my family, another highlight of my life was meeting and visiting with President Ronald Reagan at his office in Century City about five years ago. I was privileged to hear some of his stories of his life experiences. The Secret Service agents kept trying to get him to go to a lunch meeting he had scheduled, but he just kept wanting to tell "one more story". He was like a very sweet, old grandfather. My life currently revolves around my wonderful family, my work and my church where Sharon and I work with the young kids in the Sunday school program. Especially since 1986 when I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I have been blessed beyond what I deserve. |
