Norma Ninomiya (Scherer)

11 p.m. is probably not a good time to write a summary of the last 30 years, but that is how I approach most things,... just go for it, not much planning and no regrets (maybe one or two), but I have been happy with where life has taken me.  Funny  - I ended up in my own back yard - literally.  Our house faces Salmon Creek and I can yell out my back door to my dad, sister and brother.

The route to here - college at WSU, then I lived south of Bend and worked at St. Charles as RN.  I went to Florida to visit my sister, got a job on a cruise ship as a nurse and hung out in the Caribbean for a few years. I went to Norway where I worked in a hospital for a while, then I came back to Portland and worked at Good Samaritan.

Ok, I was getting close to 30, I had never been athletic in spite of dabbling in adventurous sports, so I decided I was going to become an athlete.  I started running, biking and swimming, ran in races and did a triathlon.  I had a great time playing hard, then got married and went to law school. Now this is getting up to the 20 year reunion- I had one child by then, was working for a Portland law firm and had moved to this side of the river (because I loved the commute)

The last 10 years...same law firm, second child and second husband...all a blessing! (Ok- I don't say that about my job everyday).  My two boys are 14 and 8 years old and I have a beautiful 9 year old step daughter - my husband and kids are the joy of my life. The house and yard are frequently a mess, we don't get to church as often as I'd like, I usually carry work home that I don't get done, and the dog is always in trouble.  Life is good.
