Married-Divorced, Married-Divorced, And Finally Prince Charming was just One Class ahead of us and I married him 19 years later. Charley Hays and I have 3 boys between us and 4 grandchildren. The boys, Chris is 35 unemployed since the downturn in the economy for about 3 months now (if anyone is hiring labor at this point he is not picky) His wife is super. It is nice to like your Daughter-in-law. We are buds! Matthew has an automotive shop in Salem, Oregon. And Robert the Youngest's office is the Flight Tower at the Eugene, Oregon airport. Matthew has 2 boys and Robert has a girl and a boy. After 12 years of marriage Chris and his wife are talking babies.

After Burgerville, I worked for the Vancouver School District for 7 1/2 years. Then  Charley and I got together when we worked for our local transit company (C-Tran). When the economy slowed 16 years ago he went into the electrical trade. I retired from C-Tran 5 years ago and then went back to work after 6 months. Driving charters I had a great time traveling the Pacific Northwest. Canada and 8 Western states. History and Geology a must in this profession when narrating all week as you are driving hundreds of miles with clients that depend on you to show them Our Great Pacific Northwest.  No More Luggage morning and night!!  Vegas and the Rose Parade in Pasadena and the Rose Bowl 2 years ago were also a highlight. Also Yellowstone every week sitting in front of Old Faithful having lunch and the Okanogan (Wine Country) I could go on and on. The Travel was great.

We still live in La Center and have our Horses. Charley enjoys fishing, hunting and Golf. He does have a fat white Appaloosa (He needs exercise if anyone is interested) I never started golf because when the weather is nice I would rather be on my horse up in the mountains. Our Vacation in May 2009 was to Zion, Bryce, Dixie Nat'l Forest on Horseback and the Grand Canyon on Mules as horses are not permitted.  It was the Best way to experience it all.

Hoping to retire for good in 3-4 years and travel. Maybe a couple more cruises  The Carribean and the Panama Canal are priorities. Also Charley wants to go back to Alaska. We both downhill ski and snow shoeing is new. Charley bought a new motorcycle last year and I bought mine the summer before last. So definetly we are not lacking in sports and fun. Want to do it all (except jump from an airplane). Just had both shoulders repaired 07 and 08  (from throwing luggage) and a new hip 6 weeks ago.

SO the 40th is coming.  I cannot believe it since I lost my mother  when I was 21, wow 35 years ago and I still miss her terribly, thought my days would be numbered too. Guess not. God does have a plan for us all. My father just turned 80. The Family is all still pretty much local. Some have wandered afar but returned to home-Vancouver-and live within 35 miles. I am glad. Family is No. 1 here.

Am looking forward to the class from Sarah J. Anderson Elementary and catching up. Remembering the trip back and forth in the 7th grade from Lakeshore to CR. It will be fun and a Good Time for sure. Until Then         Lynnelle Hays (Davis)
