Janice Desmet (Tyrrell)Click on the picture to enlarge August after graduation I was married (way to young). In 1974 we had a beautiful daughter Kristi and when she was six months old I joined my husband in Germany where he was in the Army. By the time Kristi was 1 year old we were divorced in a German court and I staying Germany. I didn't figure I would ever get back there again in my lifetime and I wanted to try and see some of the country, which I didn't really get to do because I didn't have any money to tour. I met a British soldier and I moved to a different part of Germany and then to South Yorkshire England. In March of 1976 we were married and we came back to the states. I had two great boys from this marriage Cory and Galen. Again this marriage only lasted 5 years and we were divorced. Then I married again in Sept of 1982 and we would still be married today but he passed away in Feb of 1994 from complications from diabetes. He was in the hospital for 6 weeks before he passed away and while he was in the hospital my father passed away. In the mean time we are trying to plan Kristi's wedding for July of 1994. When Dale and I were married we were called the Brady Bunch by our friends because he had custody of his three kids and I had three kids. It worked out that together we had 3 girls and 3 boys. After Dale died I kind of went into hibernation and sleep mode for about 6 months, but my kids say it was a year. I have since remarried again in Aug 1996 to a wonderful man that has three boys. His boys are Spencer 24, Andrew 21 and Tyler 19. Tyler just graduated from Battle Ground High School this last June. Kristi is now 26 with one girl 2-1/2 years old and expecting a second baby in March Cory 22 and Galen 21 with no steady girlfriends or kids. Spencer also has a daughter that is 1-1/2 years old. We have a lot of fun with the grandkids. It's so much easier to spoil your grandkids than it was your own. I also have 4 grandkids from Dales kids. I was a young grandma the first time - I was only 38. I lived in the same house I grew up in for a total of 41 years of my almost 49 years of life. When Jerry and I got married we decided it was time for a change and we bought a house in Orchards and I really like living someplace different. I've been working for Kyocera Industrial Ceramics for 6 years in August and before that I was at a place in Beaverton for 1 year and Red Lion Hotel Inns for 12-1/2 years. I'm in the Accounts Payable department. Hope to see a lot of you at the reunion. I made it to the 20-year but not the others. Janice Desmet (Tyrrell) |
