Well – we made it to 40 years!!!  How fantastic is that?  We’re a little bit grayer and maybe a little “thicker” than we were in our teens – or for that matter than we were when we last got together in 2000!  But….life is good!

Recap from my most recent bio is Rich Bailey and I got married in 1973, divorced in 1980 and had a beautiful daughter – Angie, born in 1978 – who is the light of my life.  She married her soul mate, Steve, in 2009 and I’m waiting for grandchildren!

I’ve been employed in the corporate world pretty much ever since graduation.  I’ve worked for a real estate appraisal company; Red Lion Hotels & Inns; The Washington State School for the Blind, Orca Capital Corporation and now CWCapital.  I’m the regional coordinator putting on marketing events here locally and across the United States.

While working for the School for the Blind, I met the man who continues to bring great joy into my life.  Jim was a special education teacher in the phys education department.  His smile, voice, laugh and sense of fun is the very important reason why my life is so satisfying and happy.  At our 30th CRHS reunion we were just about to be engaged.  The following year we married and the best wedding gift he could’ve given me was that I inherited more lovely children!  We’re both looking forward to retirement in the not too distant future.  Then we’ll have more time to travel, go to concerts, golf and volunteer with our favorite non-profits.  Jim is VP on the Board of Directors for the Vancouver Food Co-Op and I’m on my second term with the Board of Directors for Evergreen Habitat for Humanity.

Life has had its twists and turns – some good and so not so good.  I lost my dad in 2005 and my brother in 2006.  Mom is still with us and at 87 is still going strong.  I count each day a blessing when I can hear her voice.  I can’t wait to see everyone again at the reunion.  Here’s to a great celebration…and at least another 40 more years!!
