Its an interesting feeling to sit down and try to put into words what has happened these last thirty years.  I seem to recall laughing about things like this when we were in high school, but here we are and now its our turn to look back over these years.

After graduating I was determined to go through college very quickly, get a job and make money.  I went to Clark CC during the summer of 70, then to Central Washington in the fall of 70.  I started in the education track and graduated in the spring of 1973, with a BA in Music Education.  I continued to enjoy my music classes, and continued playing and accompanying the Central Singers with Wayne Hertz.  I was hired as the music teacher for the high school and middle school in Winslow, WA, on Bainbridge Island in the fall of 1974, where most of my students were 3 years younger than myself.  It was a one year position, the music teacher returned, so I was hired by the Renton School District where I taught at McKnight Middle School for the next 17 years.   During the summers of 1974-76, I attended Pacific Lutheran University and received my Masters in Music.  With too much time on my hands, I took an evening job at Green River Community College in Auburn during the years of 1976-86.  I taught two nights a week, a two credit Piano Class, to beginning and advanced students.  The second quarter of teaching at GRCC, I had a student in my class that became my husband in December of 1982.

Stein and I traveled to his home town of Bergen, Norway during the summer of 1983 and have many several trips back to Norway since that time.  Stein is an electrical engineer with the Boeing Company in Kent.   Nina, our only daughter was born in 1986, and will be in high school next year.  She has strong interest in math and science, and music has not been part of her life, other than her favorite rock music and groups.

In 1987, I returned to evening school, and received a Masters in Counseling in 1990 from Seattle University.  I made a career change out of music and into elementary counseling.  I am currently an elementary school counselor in the Highline School District, where I have been working for the past 9 years.  I have only 3 years left before I can retire, so I am looking at possibilities.  I many hobbies that I would like to spend more time with.  I am an avid runner, and have entered a few races, even a half marathon!  Tennis is also a passion, I'm on a couple of leagues and even won a
tournament!  I collect sheet music, anything old, especially those with the pretty covers, war, big band, black, or politically incorrect covers.  I have about 16,000 sheets, but still room to add to my collection.

It has been great to hear from so many already regarding the reunion, and look forward to getting together in July.  Its been a great 30 years, its nothing like I had imagined it to be when I was eighteen years old!
